How to Restore Work-Life Balance In a Day

So, you think you’re stressed? Well, we’re all stressed! It seems that stress is common nowadays

The Signs of Stress

Much of the time, we manage to cope with stress at work and in our personal lives. But stress has an insidious way of creeping up on us.

So, learn to read the signs of stress. Know the symptoms of stress—particularly the physical signs of stress—and look out for:

  • Eyelid twitching
  • Indigestion and stomach aches
  • Acne
  • Aches and pains
  • Tiredness

And when you notice these stress symptoms, it’s time to act… quickly.

Occasionally, you need me time.

But first, let’s define work-life balance…

Manage Your Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance is about setting the right priorities for work, e.g., career and ambition, and lifestyle, i.e., leisure, health, family, friends.

Get the balance wrong and your health and well-being will undoubtedly suffer. And you'll also be less productive.

So, here’s a quick fix: be selfish. Be a lazy leader!

Do something for you. Take a break. Go to a museum, art gallery or country park. Spend time with the kids. Go for a run. Whatever you like. Life balance is a personal thing.

And remember, this is only a quick fix. To bring things back into balance, take a look at our life balance tools.

Happiness is the delicate balance of what one is and what one has. – Frederick Charles Denison

Setting Priorities for a Balanced Life

Taking time out gives us breathing space. But it won’t solve the underlying problem.

Taking time out is the first step toward realizing work-life balance. So use it wisely and reassess your priorities.
